Livestock

This past Saturday was the annual event called Livestock, a daylong event in St. Peter that kicks off with a fun run and then features a day full of concerts.  The main purpose of the event is to raise money to purchase farm animals through the organization World Vision.  We sponsor three kids through World Vision, so we especially like to support this event.  Also, the event was founded by a couple in our small group from church and our church is heavily involved in putting it on.  This year I think it raised over $30,000!

We help with the fun run so the day started early for us...at the park to set up at 5am!  Luckily, Cher was able to come over the night before and help us with Maya during the day.  The fun run had another successful year with over 150 runners and raised over $4,000 for World Vision.  Brian led the runner pack on his bike and I walked it as the sweeper at the end to make sure all the participants made it to the end. 

We spent most of the rest of the day over in the other part of the park where we set up our tent, blankets, and lawn chairs.  The music was a lot more mellow this year so you could just hang out an talk.  The weather was beautiful!  Maya was a hit in her lamb costume and was the subject of a few photographers (not Brian!).  Here are some shots from the day:
