Bathroom update

We have been planning on finishing the bathroom at the cabin. It was my idea that winter would be a better time to work on this project because there wouldn't be as much work to do outside with the garden, lawn, and new tree planting and care. If you've been watching weather in the midwest, you know that we've had a lot of snow. So, I guess I do have a lot to do outside in shoveling and snow-blowing.

This first shot is of the bathroom as it was when we bought the house. You can see the small vanity that we replaced and the unfinished floor.

Here is the start of the project. I have the vanity and toilet torn out and you can see the heating cable for the under tile heat we decided to install. Mmmm nice and warm. Kate did her best to catch me and my "tilers crack".First time cutting out a sink hole on a counter top. Success!And here we are. Almost completely done. Tile in, vanity in, toilet back in place, new sink plumbing, trim boards and drawer pulls.

Kate came along for companionship and to lend a hand here and there. Here's what she looked like most of the time. Cozy huh? Finally, yesterday and today we got 17 inches of snow. This after we had a week long thaw. So much snow melted we could see grass, and the roads were clear and dry. Tonight though at the cabin I found this sweet snowdrift in back of our cabin. Keep in mind, there was barely any snow here 2 days ago! I want to dig a tunnel into the drift and play in my "fort" like a kid again.

Another of Kater. This is the "fingerprint" of a whale. The tail markings are unique to each whale and they are identified by it. This is the actual size and "fingerprint" of a local whale.
Here Kater is making a Ti leaf lei with antherium flower accents. Maria had a great set up for us to learn to make leis.
Of course I had to save the best for last. It's a picture Kater took of me on the snorkel cruise. If this picture doesn't illustrate why Kate married me, I'm not sure what picture could. Well, maybe a close up?
