Baby Bok Choy

One of the funny things about being pregnant is that you get these weekly emails about your pregnancy that compare the baby to food. This week, I learned, Baby K is the size of bok choy. Getting that email made me laugh out loud. How many people really know what the size of bok choy is? And how different is it than last week's bunch of celery? Who thinks of these things? Did someone have to go to the grocery store with a ruler to measure vegetables?

I figured it was time for a pregnancy update even though we don't have any pictures to share. For those of you who aren't keeping track, I'm in week 31, which means we have less than 9 weeks to go (yikes!). I'm still feeling well, although I'm realizing more and more each day that my body and my mind aren't always in the same place. I don't feel as pregnant in my head as my body really is. Sometimes I end up pushing things a little too far and then I pay for it, feeling very uncomfortable. This past weekend, for example, I helped Brian with the garage building and did a bunch of weeding. I felt pretty beaten up on Monday night and it took me awhile to feel right again. So, this is the new reality for me...at least for a few months.

Preparations for Baby are coming along. We've collected lots of hand-me-down clothes and gear and we registered for a few things we don't have at Target and on Amazon. The bigger preparations are trying to get work out of the way before she gets here. For Brian that means finishing the garage and clearing out the back bedroom. For me it means finishing the draft of my book. I've gotten four of eight chapters drafted. I had a bout of writer's block earlier this week, but I was able to get some words out today. The pressure is on!

My next doctor's appointment is next Wednesday, so I'll post another update. This is my last time of monthly visits and after next week I move to every other week appointments. I think the weeks will start flying by!
