Seeing blue

We've been seeing and hearing blue for a few days around here...Blue Angels, that is.  They were in town for the airshow on Saturday and were doing lots of practice runs over St. Peter and Mankato in the days leading up to the show.  The K2s came over to join us for the show on Saturday.
It was HOT and so even though the gates opened at 9am, we decided to eat lunch at home and then head over there at around noon.  The airport was absolutely packed!  I haven't been able to find crowd estimates on line yet, but there had to be more than 10,000 people there on Saturday, which is a lot for small town Minnesota!

There were a bunch of different acts, including the wing walker
the plane that caught on fire

and the four planes
Okay, you caught me.  I don't know anything about airplanes :)  Brian can update later with the real information.

The Blue Angels were the grand finale.

Maya was so inspired by the daredevils in the air that she showed off a few daredevil moves of her own, standing up in her stroller to get a better look.

And a family shot to finish the day...

Oh, and Mindy has more good pictures from the weekend at her blog.  You can check it out here.

I'm glad you got our family photo--the one Brian took for us wasn't on our camera?! bummer!
