Summer begins at the cabin

Kate and I spent most of the day out at the cabin today. We did have a little sleeping in to do this morning, but after that it was all, well, mostly business.

I usually don't mow everything all in one shot, but today I did. All the while Kate was working in the garden, weeding, watering, and mulching.

We had some mid-day visitors who arrived by boat. They stopped up to see the garden and chat a little bit.

Later in the day Kate and I were too hot in the 90 degree temps, so we retreated to the cabin. There Kate worked on organizing some of our summer vacation and camping gear. I finished hooking up our "new" washer and dryer. We did a test run and the pair work great!

We were doing a little cleaning when we had more visitors. We ended up going boating and swimming in the lake. Four adults, a big dog and a little boy make for a fun adventure.

At supper time, Goldie and I went to pick up some Chinese Food. We ate at the cabin, but not before Thorin explained to me how to properly use garden tools.

He did have to get orientated first, making sure to identify and differentiate weeds from vegies.

Proud parents...

Also, we recently had our garage foundation put in, so I can start working on the framing and hopefully have it all done before baby K arrives.
