The End

Today, as I stayed home to host our last pancake breakfast of the school year, Brian headed over to Rochester to clean out the house. Our closing date is this Friday and we're praying everything goes through without a hitch. Brian and his dad finished hauling out all the furniture we had there to stage the house and he came home with a trunkload of odds and ends. We spent some time this evening over at the storage unit trying to find a home for them. Although we're both thankful that the house sold, it's also a little sad because Brian put so much into that house. And it was his first house, which has as much sentimental value as a first car (R.I.P. Blue Hawaii!).

Back in St. Peter, I managed to feed 45 hungry college students. It was a good turnout and I had a little bit of trouble getting them to leave. I finally had the house back to myself at about 12:30. The good thing about pancake breakfasts (aside from eating pancakes and having a lot of grateful students) is that the apartment gets a good cleaning. I scrub down the kitchen before and after the event, dust, take out the trash, and vacuum. Now, if only Brian hadn't brought back two boxes of stuff to clog up the kitchen counter... :)

Goodbye cute, yellow, Elton Hills house! Thanks for the good memories and the fun work project for Brian!

That was a nice first house but the next one will be even better because you've found it together. Will you still have pancake feeds if you're not right there at the dorm? I can't imagine the stacks of pancakes required for 45 hungry kids!!!!

With every ending there's a new beginning.
